Wonderful Day

We had a wonderful Valentines Day this year. We started out the morning having a sit down breakfast all together. We made heart shape pancakes (which, by the way, are wheat and really good, let me know if you want the recipe) the boys loved helping cut the pancakes into heart shapes. It was nice to start the day all around the table laughing and enjoying each other's companyI love my husband. We are very different people but I really believe that there is no one more perfect for me than Jeremy Thelin. I am one lucky girl to have such a hot, wonderful Valentine!
Jeremy's gift to me was perfect! He wrapped it up in a Victoria Secrets box and at first I was thinking "oh no, here we go in front of the kids" but he was tricking of course. He saved his personal spending money for a couple months and got a digital video camera. He knows that I am way too cheap and think our old video camera is just fine. Truth be told, it is awesome to upload our footage into the mac and be able to edit and make little Thelin movies. Thank you Honey!
I started a new tradition of giving each of the boys (including Jeremy) their scrapbook I made from the previous year for Valentines. It has been so fun to look at all the pictures and events that we did as a family through 2008. Ike didn't care much about any gifts - he just wanted to eat more pancakes!
Max was so cute. He loves to help and feel a part of things. He set the table, stirred the juice and pressed the pancake hearts. He is my little buddy.
I feel very blessed to have 3 of the most wonderful Valentines in my life.

That is too bad there wasn't something from Victoria's Secret in the box. I would have enjoyed your witty comments and then I would have loved to watch you hunt for the receipt so you could return it.

Whole Wheat pancakes in the shape of hearts....takes me back, we used to go to a truck stop called "Keith's" (I think) in Provo, he made whole wheat pancakes the size of a plate! I don't think I have had them since:)

What a great tradition, the scrap book for the year...I have yet to make baby books for everyone before I die:)

I love those boys. You do have such cute Valentines. I love the idea of the scrapbook as the Valentine's Day gift. You're a genius. I love Ike's face in the pancake picture- classic Ike.

Way to go Jeremy-and you too Kris-I am horrible at scrapbooking. We attempted to make heart shaped pancakes in the pan, and they ended up looking deformed or like mickey mouse. Mental note, buy a heart shaped cookie cuter for next year:) Wanna run in the Rock n Roll race on June 27th in Seattle with me and Marni? There are rock bands playing the whole 13 miles!

Funny how we've made heart shape pancakes for years, and it never occurred to me to use a cookie cutter...but I have gotten half way decent at making them into something of a circular heart shape. I wondered how you mastered the art so soon! Great post.
